Amputations

Lower extremity and upper extremity amputation can be caused by trauma, atheroslcerosis, and mellitus. While the cause for the amputation is irrelevant the result and functionality after the amputation is very important. The SSA will examine the claimant’s ability to function as a basis for awarding disability benefits. For all purposes children are treated the same way as adults in regard to amputations.
