Musculoskeletal Disorders & Growth Impairments
The Musculoskeletal system of the body consists of bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. These disorders can be hereditary, congenital, or acquired. The effect of this disorder depends on the severity, how long it has been present and the individual person who has the disorder. Common disorders associated with the Musculoskeletal system are arthritis, traumatic damage (automobile accidents, work related accidents, etc), back pain, amputations and loss of certain functions. This is a very common area of reported disability seen by the Social Security Administration (SSA). Below are common disorders associated with the Musculoskeletal system and a brief description.
