Definition of Impairment of Visual Accuity

Impairment of visual acuity involves the ability to see objects at a distance, generally more than 20 feet away. It does not depend on the cause; blindness for any reason can qualify. In order to qualify the claimant must have vision of 20/200 or worse after corrective surgery. Children qualify with the same results of an adult .
