Semiskilled Work

The Social Security Administration considers semiskilled work as work which requires some skill but does not require a Social Security Disability claimant to perform complex work functions. Alertness, focus, inspecting, testing or guarding equipment may be required. Semiskilled work is more skilled than unskilled work, the lowest work level, but not as complex as other skilled jobs. Repetitive tasks requiring coordination or dexterity of the hands or feet may be classified as semiskilled work. Common semiskilled jobs can include nurse's aide, administrative assistant, waiter or chauffer.
