Definition of Work Incentives Planning And Assistance (wipa)

The Social Security Administration has helped organize 103 Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) projects across the United States. These organizations work with the Social Security Administration beneficiaries who are disabled to assist them with work activities such as career development, benefits planning and job placement. The goal of WIPA is to help disabled claimants make good work choices, help them determine eligibility for Federal or state work incentive programs, provide them with protection and advocacy services and refer them to the right Employment Networks based on the claimant's needs or impairments.
