Heart Valve Disease
This is characterized by one or more valves in the heart failing. Failure in a valve in the left side of the heart leads to an accumulation of fluids in the lungs, or pulmonary oedema. Valve diseases of the right side of the heart are rare but can occur as the result of some forms of congenital heart disease or long-term left-sided heart failure. Right-sided heart failure is characterized by fluid accumulation in the body, particularly in the legs, abdominal cavity and the liver. In order to qualify you must have proper documentation including heart imaging of a particular disease. You will notice this trend throughout diseases involving the heart and major organs in the body.
