Hyperlipidemia
Hyperlipidemia is an elevation of lipids (fats) in the bloodstream. These lipids include cholesterol, cholesterol esters (compounds), phospholipids and triglycerides. They're transported in the blood as part of large molecules called lipoproteins. This disease is very rare therefore the Social Security Administration (SSA) is apprehensive to grant disability status.
For this condition to be severe enough to meet the Social Security Administration's listing the claimant must have:
- Cardiac ischemia; OR
- Significant aortic stenosis documented by Doppler echocardiography; OR
- Major disruption of normal life activities by repeated hospitalization; OR
- Recurrent pancreatitis.
